Integrating Search

Setting up Facets

To learn more about the difference between filters and facets, read our blog post.

Facets are generated based on the values of the search result set. They can be set up in a similar way as static filters using UI components. You can also return aggregate values (e.g. count) for each facet and display them for your users.

Example of a facet with count aggregates

See detailed documentation in our React SDK.

As an example use case, consider an e-commerce store that has thousands of brands. When a user enters a search term (e.g. "shoes"), you only want to return the brands that have matched results (e.g. Nike, Adidas, etc) rather than showing all available brands.
